Invading the hearer’s auditory space. A prosodic analysis of Italian insults

Resumen

La descortesía es un campo de investigación amplio que también abarca los insultos, que son formas de violencia verbal que implican cierto grado de injuria y censura social. Los insultos nunca son expresiones neutrales y siempre muestran alteraciones fonéticas y prosódicas. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar por primera vez la prosodia de los insultos italianos utilizando un enfoque espectro-acústico. El estudio utilizó datos de 15 juegos de rol orales realizados por seis actores de teatro profesionales. El objetivo del estudio fue investigar en qué medida se emplean la duración, la intensidad y el campo tonal para transmitir el significado específico de una invasión del espacio auditivo del oyente. El análisis demostró que los insultos exhibieron duraciones más largas y valores de intensidad más altos que la muestra de habla de control. Por el contrario, el campo tonal de las expresiones objetivo se redujo, con la mayoría de los valores de f₀ situados dentro del rango de alta frecuencia.
